December 6, 2007 (Eagan, MN) – REALTOR® Rick Ketterling of RHS Realty in Apple Valley was named the 2007 REALTOR® of the Year by the Southern Twin Cities Association of REALTORS® (STCAR) at the annual Installation Celebration and Holiday Banquet.  The event was held December 5, 2007, at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville.

The REALTOR® of the Year Award honors the individual who best exemplifies what it means to be a REALTOR®; specifically, someone who upholds a high standard of ethics and professionalism in his or her career and personal life, and who has made significant contributions to the Association, the real estate profession, and the community.

Since joining the Association in 1999, Rick Ketterling has contributed many hours and ideas through his work on STCAR’s Education, Community Service, and Charitable Foundation Committees.  Here are a few examples of Rick’s accomplishments in 2007 that set him apart:

·         Chaired the annual Strikes and Spares for SpareKey bowling event which brought in over $6,000 to help families in financial need make their mortgage payments. 

·         Planned a Habitat for Humanity House-in-a-Box project in conjunction with the REALTORS® Rebuilding Communities initiative and volunteered his time to help build.

·         Reviewed more than 50 scholarship applications for the annual Southern Twin Cities REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Scholarship and helped to award $5,500 in scholarships to local high school seniors.

Rick Kettering is a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring in 2005 after having served in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Bosnia, and Afghanistan.  He is also active with his church serving on the men’s Leadership Team.  Rick and his wife Kate live in Rosemount with their three sons Reed, Chase and Hunter.
